Clayton Farms is a development of upscale, luxury homes. Built by Toll Brothers starting in 2002, small homes are 4,000+ sq ft, with larger homes surpassing 6,000 sq ft. Clayton Farms is  located in both Freehold Twp and Manalapan. The homes in Freehold Twp have a minimum lot size of just under an acre, most lots are more than an acre. The homes in Manalapan have a minimum size of almost 2 acres, with some lots more than 3 acres.

There are 57 homes in the Freehold portion of Clayton Farms, with 37 more homes in Manalapan.

School age in Freehold will children attend West Freehold Elementary School, Clifton T Barkalow Middle School and the Freehold Regional High School District. Children in Manalapan, Kindergarden will attend the Early Learning Center, grades  1-3 will attend Clark Mills Elementary School, grades 4-6 Wemrock Brook School, grades 7-8 Manalapan Englishtown Middle School and the Freehold Regional High School District.

The Freehold Regional High School District consists of 6 high schools - Manalapan, Marlboro, Freehold Township, Freehold, Howell and Colts Neck. Children usually attend the closest high school

There are specialized Learning Centers in each of the six high schools for students who are talented and highly motivated.  Any student from the region is eligible to enroll through a competitive admission process. The curriculums at the Specialized Learning Centers are:

       Manalapan - science and engineering, automotive technology and law enforcement and public safety academies
Freehold Township - global issues, animal and botanical sciences academy
       Marlboro - business administration
       Howell  - humanities, fine and performing arts academy
              Freehold - medical sciences, culinary arts/hospitality management academy and a computer science academy     
      Colts Neck - law and public service, a Navy JROTC character and leadership development academy
SAT scores at all of the high schools consistently exceed state and national averages. More than 87 percent of the district's students pursue higher education.

       For commuters to NYC, NJ Transit and Academy Bus Lines offer bus service to NYC on Route 9, which has numerous Park and Ride locations..
